BSAPAC Jewel Awards

Awarded every two years at our Biennial Asia Pacific Basava Convention, the BSAPAC Jewel Awards celebrate volunteers who have:
Demonstrated sincere service to the charity for several months.
Shown a steep learning curve in their volunteer role.
Made a significant impact in a short span of time, embodying the ethos of BSAPAC.
This prestigious award is our highest recognition of volunteer service.

Biennial Research Award

As part of our dedication to promoting the Guru Basava philosophy, BSAPAC proudly presents a Biennial Research Award for outstanding contributions in research and publications. This award recognises scholars who have made significant advancements in understanding and disseminating Basava’s teachings.
Awarded at the Biennial Convention, the recognition honours those whose research has enriched the philosophical discourse around social reform, ethics, and spirituality inspired by Guru Basava’s life and work.
2023 Awardee: Dr. Avinash Kavi Associate Professor in the Department of Community Medicine in Belagavi, India for his extensive work on the relevance of Vachana literature in in associating and linking it to medical science.

BSAPAC $500 Gift Voucher

For volunteers whose services are valued at more than $50,000 AUD, BSAPAC presents a $500 AUD gift voucher as a token of appreciation. This award acknowledges individuals who have made remarkable contributions, often working tirelessly behind the scenes.
Voucher Recipients: Dan Wu – for leading and completing the graphics design and video editing of media from 2021-23 including the Inaugural Convention 2023 in New Zealand.

External Recognition

Our charity is proud to nominate outstanding BSAPAC officers for prestigious external awards. These recognitions are a testament to the impact our volunteers have both within and beyond BSAPAC.

Finalist Not For Profit, Technology Award
Technology Volunteer Of The Year (Individual) 2023
Mr. Pramod Nagaraj (Perth), was recognised as the Finalist Tech Volunteer 2023 at the Australian Not-for-Profit Technology Awards 2023 Pan Pacific Melbourne, 2 Convention Centre Pl, South Wharf VIC 3006 on 11 May 2023.
This recognition was honored for his exemplary voluntary contribution to the not-for-profit sector and positively impacting the lives of others through his technical vision and expertise. Pramod has enabled the charity’s technology to connect, collaborate and offer a technical platform for 24X7 online services. This has enabled the volunteers to leverage a ‘hi-tech platform’ for offering a wide range of services in professional disciplines.

Mr. Arunkumar J L, Treasurer | BSAPAC Perth Chapter
Not-for-Profit Treasurers’ Awards Nomination 2023
Arunkumar was nominated for his responsiveness, due diligence, proactive and precision in his role and going above and beyond the role of the Treasurer and filling the gaps of the committee as required.
Arun’s diligence has contributed to strengthening the relationship between BSAPAC and BSAPAC Perth Chapter and is recognised for his self-less services to the Charit
Indian Society of Western Australia Award 2023 |Basava Samiti of Asia Pacific, Perth Chapter Inc
Basava Samithi of Asia Pacific, Perth Chapter Inc. was awarded the outstanding “Indian Society of Western Australia Volunteer Award 2023” at the Indian Society of Western Australia (ISWA) Diwali Mela event 2023 on November 4, 2023.
The award was presented by Dr Jags Krishnan, MLA in the presence of Hon Dr Tony Buti, MLA, Minister for Education; Aboriginal Affairs; Citizenship and Multicultural Interests, representing the Hon Premier and several distinguished guests.
The award is a testimony to the work over the years undertaken by the Perth chapter volunteers at ISWA to promote and advocate for the Indian community in Western Australia. ISWA is peak body of all Indians here in Western Australia with more than 150 Indian Associations as associate members.
It was a joyous occasion for all Basava Samithi families in Perth as their hard work for the community was recognized in the State and the Indian community at large.
