Representing BSAPAC in the Microsoft Reactor, I have felt honored as we are carrying out “Guru Basava’s” Philosophy and assisting people with education. I have gathered confidence, leadership, Networking, and technical knowledge.

Our success is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our volunteers, whom we affectionately call Sharanas. The term Sharana embodies refuge, egoless surrender, and a sense of shelter. In line with this, our salutation “Sharanu” means, “I salute the divinity in you.” These ideals define the spirit of our volunteers, who are the backbone of our charity’s operations.

Whether working remotely or in person, these committed individuals play a pivotal role in enriching society and advancing our charitable efforts. We are deeply grateful for their diverse, multidisciplinary backgrounds, which bring a rich and holistic perspective to our community.
At Basava Samiti Asia Pacific (BSAPAC), we’ve revolutionised volunteering by offering professional services from anywhere, at any time. This model fosters long-term community connections and addresses social isolation caused by accessibility and mobility challenges.

In just under two years, our Sharanas have invested over $1 million, leading to seamless operations, significant growth, and the expansion of our public-facing wing. Our Public Officers are not just leaders but community representatives, committed to practising the Guru Basava Philosophy as a way of life.
Before the establishment of BSAPAC, services related to Guru Basava were largely focused on philosophy and the arts. Since then, BSAPAC has expanded to deliver charity services under the philosophy of Kāyakavē Kailāsa (Selfless service is enlightenment) in diverse areas such as Technology, Digital Marketing, Finance, Governance, Education, Art, Research, and International Relations. Our Board of Directors, composed entirely of skilled volunteers, ensures that all operations align with our core mission and values.

We take immense pride in our volunteers’ efforts, particularly in building strong relationships with key community leaders and federal ministers. Their representation of BSAPAC at forums like LinkedIn Fireside Chats and Microsoft Reactor events speaks to their commitment to furthering our cause.
A special mention goes to our A special mention goes to our ICT team, whose dedication and early morning design-thinking workshops have laid the foundation for a high-speed, scalable charity that continues to innovate and thrive. We are especially grateful to the volunteers from our Brisbane Chapter, who generously donated high-quality laptops for our chapters, saving us a considerable amount and allowing us to reinvest those funds into other critical areas.
As a 100% volunteer-run charity, we understand that we may not always have the opportunity to fully acknowledge each individual’s contributions, but we are deeply appreciative of every one of our Sharanas. Each of them has played a vital role in shaping BSAPAC into the impactful organisation it is today.
Through their tireless efforts, our volunteers have not only advanced our mission but also fostered a culture of service, innovation, and inclusivity. We look forward to continuing this journey together, making a lasting difference in society.
